What was your first computer?

Here is mine the Commodore 64 with tape recorder.

I was dreaming of a Floppy disk station. But Jumpman Junior was my favourite game.
Monitor? The TV of course :D I Peeked and Poked a bit (commands for effects) and even managed to make a complete game on it. The sprite graphics were revolutionary and made it fairly ok to make animated objects.

I mean who could resist that box with commercials like this:

As you can see it was very cheap too. 64k memory for only $600. Half the price on an Apple or IBM with only 48K and 16K memory!

Manjaro 64bit on the main box -Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz and nVidia Corporation GT200b [GeForce GTX 275] (rev a1. + Centos on the server - Arch on the laptop.

Y'know, they're back in action so to speak...

Edit: Is this a different deal here, or was this thread kinda dead now?

Ah, damn, I'm sorry. I've got to get used to just kicking back and enjoying here when I am here now... am always working wherever I go, can't ever just "let down" so to speak...

Ah so you were one of the rich guys! I remember I worked a lot with Basic. I made the people on my summer job panic when I made this program on an IBM S36:

Code: Select all

10 print "all data lost"
20 goto 10

I put it in a routine they had to start often - Great fun :D
