Rufus
Totally, completely, bad-ass. From what I understand, one can make a Linux boot disk out of it, but I haven't seen how it's done with it.
It's free, btw.

Yup that is supposed to be the best one.
I mentioned it ass an alternative to "burn" the Multi Rescue DVD to USB here:

Eek! Sorry. Time is a real factor these days, so I don't see everything here.

Yes
...and it is twice as fast as Unetbootin.

Turns out this is not true. The Rufus web site says
Oh, and Rufus is fast. For instance it's about twice as fast as UNetbootin, Universal USB Installer or Windows 7 USB download tool, on the creation of a Windows 7 USB installation drive from an ISO. It is also marginally faster on the creation of Linux bootable USB from ISOs.
So I got Rufus and unetbootin, and used a Win7 ISO to make a bootable drive with each. Rufus was 17:17 and unetbootin was 17:23. After that complete failure to achieve "twice as fast" I didn't even bother to test a Linux ISO.

Yes that is the marketing. The important thing is if it works. If Unetbootin works for you then fine. I switched from Unetbootin to Rufus but it is no principle

It is really unfortunate that they would be so misleading like that though. The application looks good (I did not actually test that I could install the OS from either one) but I have a hard time using Rufus just based on their extremely unrealistic claims.

Re: Anyone used this? (Windows)
Somehow it didn't work for me, so I went W32 Disk Imager for Windows. Turns out it works wonderfully too.
I think I chose the wrong options in Rufus - couldn't quite figure it all out. My roommate uses it well, but I have more of the mechanics to get down I think.
