I'm wondering if they've kept up with updates for them.
TBH, I like the Enlightenment distro a lot better than trying to slap E16 & E17 into another distro. Lots of multimedia goodies in it, that one can never appreciate the full scope of unless they run the distro.

Elive includes E16, for speed and stability, along with a special version of E17 selected from cvs (regularly updated through Elive's test branch repository. Most of the programs built on top of the Enlightenment Foundation Libraries are also included.
