Is Linux Tablet An iPad Killer?

ImageIs Linux Tablet An iPad Killer? Ubuntu has made that horrible Unity approach but there is this KDE based attempt too. Maybe it is promising!
Funny to see how Android is seen as being in the same camp as Apple even though they technically have an Linux open source system.
I will have to get used to see billions spent on a computer industry that has one goal:
To make the screen smaller and the keyboard as close to useless as possible. +1

I will stay with my efficient computers:

I will like to see a Tablet the size of a Piece of Paper. For work and Household use. Make it look the same way a Magazine will be.
A Kick Stand and a Bluetooth keyboard can be complemented to be used as Netbook/Laptop replacement.

At work will be so useful to go to meetings and see a standard paper size screen in the way a real document would look.

I know will be a bit heavier but will be lighter than a Laptop.

A smaller tablet I rather have the Smart Phone.

Could be nice to have a proximity application.

Lets say that you are sitting in a room and you have a document.
You cold swipe the screen in the way you would push a piece of paper and actually moving a copy to the other person/s device/s.

Another cool idea is the same concept with touch screen displays. Links with your smart phone and becomes a bigger display from your phone.

If I had the cash I sure will make some wonders!

Ah I see! You want a laptop with a detachable touchscreen! +1
What is happening now is that you pay for the screen first, Then you can buy a keyboard ,,,, and a mouse,,,,, and a bag....
And the best part is that it will only cost 10 times more than a laptop.
Still; there is nothing wrong with creativity, and I realize that I am outnumbered on the tablet view. People are sleeping in line to get them - and they are calling me crazy for not doing it :-D

I have absolutely no desire for one, myself. I know where my notebook and paper are, and know how to read books (I actually like to read books), TYVM.
I'd rather be a free person who fears terrorists, than be a "safe" person who fears the government.

Tablets has its conveniences but is not a magical silver bullet in the way Apple pitches the idea.

My wife has Kindle Fire and is a great device.
What I like most is the ability to play Hulu and Netflix.
Roku box is another great little device for online entertainment.
