.
Let me say this first:
If you do not know if you have 32bit or 64bit then you should ignore this tip.
There are two reasons for this:
1 You have 32bit (with 99.9% probability)
2 This will not work for you.
To make sure you can type
Code: Select all
uname -mAdobes 64bit flash reader for Linux:
Here we go:
Open a terminal:
su
Code: Select all
wget http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashplatformruntimes/flashplayer11/flashplayer11_b2_install_lin_64_080811.tar.gz Updated 19.08.2011
This will download the flash file, but remember to check the version, it can change and differ from the one here. (It will when Adobe updates it)
Unpack flash player:
Code: Select all
tar zxvf flashplayer11_b2_install_lin_64_080811.tar.gzAnd install it like this:
Code: Select all
sudo mv libflashplayer.so /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/ (If you had the old 64bit Alpha installed just say yes, to overwriting the file)
We go to the the folder:
Code: Select all
cd /usr/lib64/mozilla/pluginsAnd here we remove the old 32bit flash player that you may have installed:
Code: Select all
mv -f libswfdecmozilla.so libswfdecmozilla.backupOk we are finished but lets have a short final check:
Start Firefox and write about:plugins in the adress line. There should only be one listing regarding shockwave flash and look approximately like this:
Shockwave Flash
Fil: libflashplayer.so
Versjon:
Shockwave Flash 11.0 d1
MIME-type Beskrivelse Filtyper
application/x-shockwave-flash Shockwave Flash swf
application/futuresplash FutureSplash Player spl
