It's nice that Nicolas built the rpms for this latest KDE update. I'll see how it goes. :)

Looks like you're on 2010, 64-bit? Yeah, that is nice. Hope it's more stable and functional than previous versions.

Yes, it's my first 64-bit installation, so I don't have any history to compare. From what I gather, x86_64 is pretty much up to par with the usability of i586 and, except for some inconsistent usability across a variety of web java applets, they, also, mostly work and I don't have any problems.

From what I hear, beware of the network manager plasmoid; it can cause the desktop to crash. I myself can't verify this, not running KDE.

With only dsl, set up on the router, sent to my box over lan, network is pretty much a set and forget deal, automatically configured at install. It's been a long time since I even visited the network manager applet and it doesn't seem to be causing any problems for me, in KDE-4.4.2 x86_64.

I can reassure you on this. I have no issues with web java applets I pay my bills on the java applets of my bank without problems. Adobes 64b flash is also very stable and working fine even if it is an Alpha. I have been using 64 bit for a long time now. I don't think you will notice a (negative) difference at all. And in Mandriva the network plasm.. works
