For most people, the division between the two projects has always been more about governance than personal animosities, so coexistence is almost certainly possible.In fact, Apache representatives have suggested repeatedly that nothing would please them better.

Yes Oracle just could not make OO business after LibreOffice. LibreOffice was better and free, so they could just as well donate the code.
So this is good news.
Manjaro 64bit on the main box -Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz and nVidia Corporation GT200b [GeForce GTX 275] (rev a1. + Centos on the server - Arch on the laptop.

Yes, sometimes I think Oracle hears the mumbles in the background about what we open source people think of them, so tries to do something to help matters there. However, I'm never fooled for long, it seems. *sigh

If they try to rebuild their rep with the open source community I think that is a positive thing. In that case they have a lot of rebuilding to do.
