To be fair: No one else does it for free either. The shipping costs must be formidable. This is a business Idea for you - download it and Burn it and "sell" the media.
(It will probably only work for Ubuntu users though
). You will have to be cheaper than Distrowatch (1,75$). The ting that could be business is putting a distro on an USB pen (21,75 at Distrowatch) and sell it for 21,00$

That's kind of what I was thinking, too. I used to get hundreds of cds from them (this was several years ago), and pass them 'round all over the place. BUT, this was back in the day when Linux didn't have the sort of "prominence" it has now. I don't think it's needed any longer to - Linux doesn't need that kind of attention any more, to get new users.

It is not the attention - It is simply a practical thing because people do not want to or know how to, Burn or dd ISO-images.

But I have found, as of late, that a LOT of distributions now put those instructions right there on their download pages. Even that's not an excuse any more. With Linux being most (close to all) of the time free, one dvd or cd is not going to bother people to figure out.
