Jem, I know you have a habit of "if something doesn't work, go find another distro", and have a feeling you're doing that here. Might I express an opinion, that being, that it's in the fixes and resolutions to problems that actually make the distros. If you hang with this, and get it resolved, then you haz distro you like, that works, no? There is never need to jump just because one thing doesn't work, but is fixable. I've seen you do this too many times. If you can get this fixed, then the fix might be able to go to the Kubuntu forums or maintainers, then would be fixed for everyone.
Each distro has its own set of issues. You'll never find one that's perfect. Fix what you have.

I'd rather be a free person who fears terrorists, than be a "safe" person who fears the government.

Well a lot of posts here but skype works in 32 bit so in Mandriva I had to add the 32bit repositories to make it work. Hence my question.
Manjaro 64bit on the main box -Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz and nVidia Corporation GT200b [GeForce GTX 275] (rev a1. + Centos on the server - Arch on the laptop.
