maybe that's why I allways went with nvidia... their drivers work, Ati makes flashy drivers for windows which crachses and bsods, they might be a little bit heavier on the price but it's worth it for that excelent customer support.
everything in all videoplayers and "games" works directly with their linux driver, ati i've had to use bad gnu licensed drivers. heard they've gotten better though
