@b1o: We can't discriminate against something just because we ourselves don't like it. If we're going to be "a killer IT site", then we need to include everything we can. I'm not hot on Macs either, but let's face it. There are those who are.

hehe sure. but we got to remember that apple started out wanting to make products for those who want to be different. Now they are the complete opposite :P They've become what they started out not wanting to be... hypocracy! :D

IMHO 2 things that I hate to discuss are Politics and Religion.

Occasionally I might try a Political or Religion joke.

The one thing that both have in common is they are based on Believes and that is hard to prove or disapprove.

Just let me throw some out there as an example, not for discussion.

I believe the man should be rewarded for his achievements. I despite Universal type of anything, do not feel supporting other people that cannot contribute.

Other would be...

Nobody really seen God, why you believe on some that can not be proved, just by feel.

Those are types of questions that will make a lengthy, endless and pointless thread that leads nowhere. Does not matter how much bickering and arguing it will not change nobody's mind. There are not right or wrong to it, because depending of your point of view is always right no matter how wrong you are...

And that is why, I despite those types of forums and threads. +1

The topics that always are informative are the scientific type. There is a way to prove when some is wrong. There are not gray areas in science. WE can debate some and you have to show prove.

A debate without proof in science is nothing.

Again, just because one man's opinion is that those kinds of threads shouldn't be there, doesn't mean they shouldn't. We have to consider all opinions, and include everything we can.

Did you know that there are those who go to IT sites, not just for IT, and sometimes not for IT at all?

I see R_heads point though. You Americans have the wild west tradition and want to kill everybody that disagrees with you. Rather than a debate, it turns out to be the duel in Tombstone. And that is rather pointless.
When done with tolerance and respect it could work though.

Actually, I think we've done okay so far. :) No one's dead yet, with the exception of course, of the spammers I've been banning. lol

I actually leave most of the wild wild west attitudes up to our old president. lol.
