So just to make it perfectly clear - up front - nobody is going to respect it and it will have no influence on the actual name whatsoever.
But I am curious so I would like to hear your opinion on some names:
You will only get one vote - but you will be allowed to change that vote as new names might make it to the list as we go along :confused
(Simply vote for something else and you original vote will be moved to the new favorite - It works I have tested it :-D )

I think Macdriva would be a fine name for an OSX replacement.. otherwise? Not so much. May also incur the rath of Apple!

We need a 'none of the above' option?

Well that is a classical reaction (you may well be right though. Odin Linux would have been perfect :-D ). How about an action:

Given what has been going on recently, perhaps BerserkLinux would be appropriate, or would they need you to grant a them a licence to use that. :lol:

BerserkLinux .. may be a nice idea, but.. i think the first Name who has grabs the "e" away from the factory, it's the best ..
it describes exactly what it is for a Linux and has a full re-identification value of earlier and can bring back all together.

Manual = you can learn and read anything :C
Drakconf = The Commando Center from Mandrake -> Drakconf :think:

so, easy and the best.. ManDrak :greetings = The Berserkers best Frend ! :berserkf

Well yes you have a point.
For some reason it looks like some people at the OMA wants a name that has nothing to do with Mandriva or Mandrake... and that is kind of odd for an association called Openmandriva :confused

Mandrake is out of the question though - they have already lost this fight to the original Mandrake:

I would think that the relationship would be the bond that keeps this warm and cuddly family together....

It looks like the Association has ambitions to organize several distros not only this one. So that would call for a more neutral name.

Will they take over Mageia too? Is the plan to organize every Mandriva fork under one umbrella? Interesting idea.. :think:

Yep, that makes since. Convincing Mageia? That is a whole 'nuther thing! I am starting to lean towards Apfelstrudel! Wonder if anyone has a copyright on that? Maybe I'll copyright it myself! probably some issue with"prior art"( or prior food!), though!

No problem thats what associations do - they check out legal names.... Apfelstrudel Linux I think I could digest that :-D In any case is probably important to let this process take some time.

Once the name is cleared, then the entire focus would be on when the distro gets finished.... :o
