Where does guake reside in ~/.

Postby dedanna1029 » 15 Dec 2012, 20:01

I'm trying to find where guake holds its settings on the user's desktop - it's not matching the settings I've set up for it, and I need to reset that folder for it and re-do it. Does it pit directly off the user's .bashrc and .bash_profile, or is there a .guake folder or file anywhere that can be reset for guake directly? Regular terminal is behaving correctly, and matches what I've set up in .bashrc and .bash_profile.
I've searched for it in ~/. , and find guake nowhere but insignificant things:

Code: Select all

:) ls -R | grep guake
ls: cannot open directory ./Documents/etc/audisp: Permission denied - these lines are just backups from previous installations
ls: cannot open directory ./Documents/etc/audit: Permission denied
ls: cannot open directory ./Documents/etc/cups/ssl: Permission denied
ls: cannot open directory ./Documents/etc/dhcp: Permission denied
guake.schemas
ls: cannot open directory ./Documents/etc/ipsec.d: Permission denied
ls: cannot open directory ./Documents/etc/lvm/archive: Permission denied
ls: cannot open directory ./Documents/etc/lvm/backup: Permission denied
ls: cannot open directory ./Documents/etc/lvm/cache: Permission denied
ls: cannot open directory ./Documents/etc/ntp/crypto: Permission denied
ls: cannot open directory ./Documents/etc/pki/CA/private: Permission denied
ls: cannot open directory ./Documents/etc/pki/rsyslog: Permission denied
ls: cannot open directory ./Documents/etc/polkit-1/localauthority: Permission denied
ls: cannot open directory ./Documents/etc/selinux/targeted/modules/active: Permission denied
ls: cannot open directory ./Documents/etc/sssd: Permission denied
ls: cannot open directory ./Documents/etc/sudoers.d: Permission denied
guake-0.4.4-4.el6.i686.rpm - the installation rpm in /Downloads - that's all this is

I really wish I could get Tilda working for this thing. It's much more stable than guake. In fact, I'm tempted to reinstall with Mageia for the KDE netbook edition, just to get a few packages working that I need.

Still, this is curious. Thanks.

More info here. gnome-terminal is correct; the colors, the prompt, etc., and it's what I have guake set to as well. When you look at guake however, the colors are messed up, and I can't even see what I'm typing. It shouldn't be this way, and it needs a reset I think to correct it. It used to be correct, but what it's doing now, is what it would switch to when I'd go su - in it:

Gnome terminal (correct):

Guake terminal and preferences:

You edit the settings in

Code: Select all

/usr/bin/guake

nano /usr/bin/guake
here you can set width and align it to the center etc.
nothing in ~/ AFAICT
Manjaro 64bit on the main box -Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz and nVidia Corporation GT200b [GeForce GTX 275] (rev a1. + Centos on the server - Arch on the laptop.

OK, yeah, then I'm going to get something else on here post-haste (Mageia, SuSe, whatever). I'm not digging guake at all.

Thanks.
