Meh.

Edit: An explanation. Do you know how many Facebook posts I see, and Twitter posts I see daily that say "Posted from Tweetdeck" or "Posted from my bad-ass <phone>?

I'm like, I don't give a shit. lol.

I like the idea, if webmaster can nicely implement it. There is a mozilla forum where info about the mozilla build is automatically detected and added to the posts. This is quite helpful in troubleshooting analysis and I see how it can be an interesting factoid that adds to post value. See, for example: mozillazine forum

Should be possible - Just to make it a chalenge; b1o please post the code in PHP here :D I guess we could do something like this:

Code: Select all

echo $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'];

That would smoke out the IE usersImage But then again we do not want to scare anybody off :D

What if we don't want people to know?

I mean, I already come in here in online mode, when I've told it not to display that in my profile.

So... ?

If someone chooses not to have their online status displayed, then why are we assuming that they'd want their distro displayed? Considering the fact that I've chosen not to have my online status displayed, and it displays it anyway much to my chagrin, I don't think I'd want to dole out any more info on me. We're not google.

Edit: Our issue with this has been dealt with (online status).

I propose that we add a question to the user profile, "Do you want to have your OS displayed when you post?" Or something to that effect. I think it should be totally up to the users what information they divulge, and what they don't.

Please don't make it a mandatory "thing".

Thanks.

I think you are right dedanna. Your line of argument here is "right up my ally". It is not going to happen.
