I think maybe that's the problem with people these days. They want everything instantaneously, now, and they don't want to have to work for or on it.

I take the opposite view (viking may or may not be able to explain how hard I work at anything that comes my way), that says if you put the work in now that it takes to make things the way you want them in general, then you'll have a much easier time of it later on from what you've learned from it. So, I'm not afraid to tell someone "hey, this is Linux, get over it, how would you like to learn a few cool things that will be a big help later on?"

FYI, my normal work schedule is 8:00-5:00 M-F. I do not get paid overtime.

I worked until 6:30 today, and do this on quite a few other days.

Why? In particular when it's been a busy day, I want my work done so I don't have it looming over me tomorrow (which more than likely, being after a day like today, will be every bit itself).

Ask Viking also if there were days when he saw me come into the Chat section of the MDV forum saying I had worked 12, 15, whatever-many-hour days. There were plenty.

Yup I only want radio - damned TV The CLI/GUI is not somthing I am fanatic about. As long as it gets the job done, both are fine.
BTW- is Arch still coming along nicely b10?
And is Gentoo on the avoid or try list? I am not sure. I have given Open Solaris a short spin. I have not tested it enough to have a qualified opinion. I did not bother to test it that long. The first impression was negative.

Puppy Linux is definitely worth a try - superfast. The TeenPup derivatives 2009 and 2010 are very different and also worth trying both.
