If I'm say on something like Kopete or Skype, using my headset/mic, on my onboard sound, and then I go to mute or switch pulseaudio to use my sound card (Audigy) for something else while still on Kopete or Skype on the onboard, will it disconnect the call on Kopete or Skype that's on the onboard completely, or will it just mute it?

when switching sound cards it may disconnect you being a hardware switch
I'm not positive on it though
you could run a test to see
