Clementine Player update

Well, Clementine 1.0.x was never a go for me on either Mint or Mageia, or whatever I ran it on. It's been extremely resource-intensive, and eating CPU like no tomorrow, with every move I made in it.
I uninstalled it, and reinstalled with the up to date version (1.1.1) via compiling it, and it's still the same.
See
upstream Bug #3551 and
Mageia Bug #9361.
Until I get this all completely sorted, I'm going to continue with Audacious, which still runs and sounds so so good!

I have Clementine 1.1.1 on Arch on a really low spe box - and it behaves quite well. It is acceptable on memory and CPU use.
I am listening to icecast and Adicitve-50's (Mr Sandman)

(You never know; the Andrew Sisters may pop up there)
I'll try to compare it to Audacious.....
Eh I am lost where can I find icecast on Audacious?

Well, they don't have Icecast persay, but there is scrobbling in File-->Preferences-->Plugins.
Why are "services" like Icecast, etc. necessary for playback and listening enjoyment?

Ah, I see. You could try Amarok2 then maybe? Not sure if it does it, but might? Crap. Was going to say streamtuner too, but I can't find it in the repos.

Edit:
icecast source clientsI've noticed quite a few are not in the repos, though. :\
Edit:
Mixxx is though! It may be quite a bit more than one needs, but it will do the trick.

Well that is an easy one - Install Linux! That way you can have that superior software and not worry about viruses.
Clementine should work for Windows too though.
You can download it
hereYou may also try
mediamonkey for Windows.
(What you may
not do is to make a lot of links here to commercial players that you like

).

Yup I simply remove those spamming idiots.

The new strategy is to ask an interesting question and then go back and edit their post with links to some "fantastic product" one week later.
In those cases the interesting answers will remain while the spamming idiot is gone - together with his question.
It may look funny but I don't care - those idiots will be history - every time
