Moondrake repos

According to the cooker this is how you get the Moondrake repos. (I am using the rosa cooker and that works ok too but no sound)
Hi all,

Some months ago I tried the moondrake beta and I liked it.

However, I didn't find out how to update it. What did I miss?

Hi!

You need to add the regular cooker repos (since layout isn't proper,
--distrib won't work and you need to add each indiviual repo manually):

Code: Select all

urpmi.addmedia main
rsync://195.19.76.240/downloads/cooker/repository/x86_64/main/release
<http://195.19.76.240/downloads/cooker/repository/x86_64/main/release>
urpmi.addmedia contrib
rsync://195.19.76.240/downloads/cooker/repository/x86_64/contrib/release
<http://195.19.76.240/downloads/cooker/repository/x86_64/contrib/release>
urpmi.addmedia non-free
rsync://195.19.76.240/downloads/cooker/repository/x86_64/non-free/release <http://195.19.76.240/downloads/cooker/repository/x86_64/non-free/release>
urpmi.addmedia restricted
rsync://195.19.76.240/downloads/cooker/repository/x86_64/restricted/release
<http://195.19.76.240/downloads/cooker/repository/x86_64/restricted/release>

Suggestion to remove the carats in front of the http:// part of that code for those who need to copy/paste it. It won't work with them, since there aren't any closing ones.. I realize it's a quote-type thing, but it would be good for others.

I just copied this from the cooker mailinglist - I have no clue if it works. So I will leave it as posted.
In fact I can't get those repos to work....
So I still use the rosa repos.

There are a lot of updates but - from a user point of view the distro does not seem to be moving forward.
No sound - buggy flash - crashing Firefox.

Other than that it is fairly OK.

IMO they need to come up with something that blows everybody away after having been absent for a couple of years.
The game during installation could be such a thing - but I dunno :confused

I will not sacrifice Manjaro for this...And if I am not mistaken Manjaro has less devs than Mandriva so this is a case of to many cooks smearing to much, rather than lack of people - by the looks of it.

The Moondrake from POK is the only beta that has been released so this is based on that.

OMA has not managed to release a beta yet - but it should be close according to the mailing list.

Interesting.

I'm wondering why the repos were released then if they don't work? Seems rather... "counterproductive"...

They were not "released" it is just a post Per Øyvind made.
Apparently the standard cooker repos are developing in a direction that is not perfect for the Moondrake beta he released.

I could alter main but contrib is another matter

Code: Select all

Errors:
...retrieving failed: unknown protocol defined for urpmi.addmedia/media/contrib/release at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.16.3/urpm/download.pm line 999.

Checking further....
-
I was only able to activate the moondrake repo to get the others I had to take the rosa repos.

LibreOffice works fine again and looks good.
Sound? - nope :snooty:
It still is close but not ready - as the case has been for quite a while....

Well... if we knew of one you could switch to, we'd have you switch to another contrib repo via cli using urpmi addmedia, but... :P *ahem
