Jupp I was sneaky and filled in the 5th of June in there because the field was empty. proyvind changed it to 8th.

Funny thing, that. It's only the 7th.

Usually it's advisable to wait until after the official release before filling in the "Real" date. Last minute hitches are always possible. :)

I always get lost in the shifting sands of Mandriva's continually morphing web sites. :berserk2
Thanks for pointing that out, Jim.

Yes I know : I have been naughty :naughty:  But we got an "8th" out of it instead of a "-" :-D And therefore Rolf has an answer :greetings
I don't think it is dead wrong either to provide the real date after the planed date has come and gone - even if it just represents a new planed date. It is better communication than just leaving it - which would enhance the "dead" impression and ecourage further :mandriva:

It might be better to insert a line through the original planned date and add the new planned date, as was done here:

https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_2_development

(Although there is some "poetic licence" involved in claiming that meeting the changed planned date meant that it was "on time".)

What a brilliant Idea - done correctly, Mandriva will always be on schedule (You spotted that poetically :-D ).
But it is hard to concentrate on that now:
Ladies and gentlemen we now have a new berserk in our midst: :bowlol :berserkf
Jkerr made it so far without dying, and must hereafter be paid the up-most respect that Berserks deserve. Anyone breaking this rule will be dealt with in the traditional manner.

And there will be no pork (from Særimner) in Valhalla!
Congratulations Jim and thanks for you contributions so far :greetings

According to the Oxford dictionary, berserk means
out of control with anger or excitement; wild or frenzied

I don't think I've got the energy to reach that state. "Grumpy old man" is about my limit nowadays.

There probably were some locals who had that impression when the Berserks visited, and wrote that down. But Eric Blodaxe ruled Northumbira (Northumberland) and brought some order in to the chaos over there. Much later in 1066 his ans esters came back (Normann means Norwegian) and corrected things again. They should have made a better job on those librearys in Oxford though
Mostly it reflects the first true Linux distro; Ygdrasil - which also is the Norse World tree.

We will kill anyone who is not peaceful - so we got that bit covered. We see nothing wrong in being dynamic. Excitement about Linux is common here - true!
We can get wild or frenzied when privacy is threatened or when someone is trying to steal and get paid for the work of others. Be it patent laden activities, Blackmail or surveillance. So maybe that dictionary is not so wrong after all...

But Grumpy will do just fine......

And Mandriva wil be out on the 8th of June...

This is why I always go to some horse's mouth to ask, and not some wiki or document. Especially when it comes to Mandriva.

Well, if Proyvind, who is doing the .isos says it will be out today, I believe him.
