When it rains, it pours

Have received word from my mom that she has a form of metastatic melonoma that is deadly. The survival rate is two to three years max. She is going to have a biopsy, but has already had a PET scan, which is pretty definitive.
Mom has always lived a very healthy lifestyle, and considering she is only 79 (I'm 61), this is very unfair to her.
She has already begun getting her affairs in order.
