I think, Apple will come down. Skyrocketed but is more of a novelty item. Still, around the industry MS still king and Linux is making its way little by little.

One of the biggest thing that makes Apple what is Apple is the agreements with the media industry (music, movies, etc...) people are so glued to Media they buy any BS they throw at the populous. Even the Media is lobbying in Congress to make a Felony if you even own an MP3 file. The other crap is all the stupid Patents that people are making and wait for someone to make a working product to sue them. HTC pays MS $15 for every Android phone they sell for some silly patent. Apple is currently engaged with Samsung for the Galaxy Tab that looks like an iPad? Some British judge granted them an Injunction to stop the sales in Europe? Can he does that? Samsung was outselling iPad for more than 2 to 1

Now I question, is Apple that great?

I for one will not give up my PC so easily. No way that it can be replaced by a tablet.

You forgot Facebook, they are the biggest that steals your info, tags your face and is done right in front of you.

Apple with the stupid Patent war got a taste of HP, since they bought Palm they hold the patent for Smart Phones? Really? If they want they can throw that card on the Thermonuclear Patent War. At least HP is on the Linux side of the fence; I hope they rock the Apple Tree and breaks some Windows along the way.

Yes Facebook is a big no no from a privacy point of view. Still it is not forced upon people in the shape of hardware. So giving up all your personal data to and on Facebook is worthy of a diagnosis. It is not in any way good for you to do so. And they live of monitoring your interests and God knows what else.

The really dirt part about it is that they exploit (overly) social and nice people. The kind that cannot help using social media.
It is like having to go to the toilet.... you can only hold yourself for so long. We should deal with Facebook like with the Tobacco industry really.

Let me make something perfectly clear here. EVERYONE craps on your privacy, including your governments. EVERY SITE online does. If you don't think so you are seriously deluded. It's ALL about the bottom dollar. If you don't want your privacy crapped on then have your ISP pull your connection here & now, else stop complaining about ANY site, anywhere.

Even Linux, btw, has that f*cking fingerprint recognition & aids your government to spy on you with its software. Think facial recognition isn't next with Linux? Think again. It's already here, & has been for ages.

Yes if you want to be perfectly safe it is best to pull the plug. You are right about that!
But there is no harm in being aware.

The point is, in being aware we can not say the main thing, our own PC, is going to be our security for privacy, whatever OS. That's a huge mistake to make. Our personal computers were the first to be tapped out of all the main devices. Comments like "I'll not buy the rest & just trust my PC for privacy" are ridiculous. If you have a wired PC, then you have the same privacy-invading bullshit as the others. However, I am willing to buy the "It's too expensive" issue for them. Security is moot regardless what device you use. Ignoring the main security risk is just silly.
