| Embrace yourselves friends. After having concluded that Microsoft already had lost the war on Cell phone OS'es I now see clear signs of Microsofts traditional "street smart" marketing. A lot of articles about Androids short comings will turn up in the near future and some have already surfaced. Many of the journalists have undoubtedly been invited to "information meetings" and probably many of them have a new phone. Microsoft is going to spend a load of money on Android dirt packs, making sure it reaches everyone. They have already claimed that Android is in violation of a Microsoft patent (but who can take that seriously these days). Then there will be a phase where win7 is praised and "surprisingly" good, compared to Android.
| Traditional lobbying where the important influential people will be influenced, can be camouflaged as charity events. Every politician wants to stick his nose into a camera and look good, being the nice guy, and Microsoft knows it. And they know how to exploit it better than anybody else. Of course HTC and other producers of Gadgets that use Android are going to get offers "they can't refuse": A massive threat on one hand and a load of money on the other hand. Knowing Microsoft this might well work. The fact remains though; none of these activities improve their system, It will only contribute to squeezing a superior system out of the Market. They have done that before..... The Embrace, Extend, Extinguish, strategy works. |

To be honest, he doesn't give a rat's about any of it. He's going much, much further.
I'd rather be a free person who fears terrorists, than be a "safe" person who fears the government.
