Is simple, people knows that MS sucks really bad on phones. The only one that can give a good fight is Android. One thing that Apple and MS have in common is, they are copyrights freaks. That is how they protect their investment with ridiculous claims about using your fingers to point.

BTW, I read somewhere, long ago, OS X and all the Apple OSs are based on Free BSD? Is that true?

Are Apple and MS cooperating in the copyright war - is there any evidence of that? It looks a bit like that here.

Yes that is true - Apple is based on BSD.

Yes it is. If you look at the history of Apple, you'll find that up until the OS 9.x series (IIRC?), they were Open Source themselves. They really really screwed up when they went Closed Source, IMHO.

They are making a lot of money though - but that is more of a lifestyle thing than a computer thing.
It is the "dancing successful deodorants with white teeth" marketing that gets me. I am am not sure if I am watching an Apple commercial or a Loreal commercial these days.

Apple is a Boutique for computers. As long they keep their prices high, people will buy them. Is like a Toyota and Lexus, still the same car, Lexus is a plush version of an entry level Toyota for rich people.

Apple is juts a plush version or a regular PC.

What worries me is that Microsoft and Apple have a common interest in blocking open source. I have a strong feeling that they are cooperating here. It sure looks that way.

Time for the Americans to realize how stupid software patents are. It will create a lot of work for the lawyers. But nothing good will ever come out of it for the end user.
