Tech Specs

I'm running Fedora 12 32-bit on a Lenovo IdeaPad Y550 with 4GB RAM, complete Intel chipset and graphics, Pentium T4200 2.00 GHz Penryn 45nm, REaltek HD Audio, with a secondary HD Monitor displaying at 1080p (thank you x.org update!).
I would like to have a test system so I can move all my Linux work to a dedicated machine.

First, those are a couple of really great systems!
Second, are you asking a question, or making a statement? Can't tell? Are you needing a test system? If so, what kind of hardware?
Thanks!

Yeah, just like the Formspring question you asked, I need a system. It doesn't have to a huge system. Just something to run various tests on.

What specifically are you wanting to test? A specific distro? A host of distros?
I'm asking because I may be able to test out with my secondary hard drive.

There's nothing specific at all. Its just whatever comes to my mind or whatever I see online.

Would that work? An 80-Gb secondary hdd, with Fedora loaded on it (provided I can get it to go this time)?

I don't know, because I want to be able to have local control so if I f* something up...It won't interfere with normal day-to-day.

Ah, okay. I had a thought on remote control desktop... not sure if that would work for you?

It would be something awesome to test.

Now that I think about it, yeah, it would be. Wanna give it a go this weekend?

Sounds great! I'll get erm, *something*, hopefully Fedora installed, and will install remote desktop while I'm at it.

edit: FYI, you'll need to install it on your end, too.
Old joke: We can both post to this forum at the same time, from the same computer! lol
