internet browsing issue

Postby dedanna1029 » 08 Aug 2013, 15:06

Mageia 3. Internet browsing was extremely slow, so I had disabled IPV6 quite a while back. The problem was, it was still at a crawl. I went into Network Center's Advanced dialog, and found that I had also inadvertently disabled TCP Window Scaling, so re-enabled it.

Web browsing in chrome is much peppier now, but Firefox won't load - it crashes straight away.

Any clue what gives?

Thanks.

It still does get slow here and there for a while, but it's not like it was. At least this way I have periods of a good inet connection.

Also, CPU is constantly at 100% when I browse now, no matter what browser I use. I don't get it.
