The absurdity of patent laden - again

Microsoft is going after Motorola these days. Apparently they have been working hard on Android :liar: This shadow boxing game, is a mockery of the American system first and foremost.

To illustrate the absurdity of software patents again:
If you are dual booting with Windows, then you can go to the System32 folder and check this out:

Code: Select all

:( cd /media/win/Windows/System32
.:[ [email protected] : 01:56:36 : /media/win/Windows/System32 ]:.
:) strings ftp.exe |grep California

Yes! it is the Unix code originally from Berkely (BSD) - Illegal you say? No it is free, for Apple and Microsoft and anyone else to use. And it has probably made their products a lot better.
So they are clearly accepting gifts - but not giving any :hand: Yet they have the nerve to sue the rest of the world with a self righteous attitude, claiming all functioning and profitable software must be originating from Microsoft.

So I'll say it again; patents on software are absurd - do you listen members of the supreme court?
