:party Debian is one of the most important out there. Without it there would be no Ubuntu or Mint. So it is fitting to have a day where we appreciate Debian (even if we do not use it).

Debian must be 21 years old today - if I am not mistaken.

The age is of some importance since there are some "here today - gone tomorrow" distros like Fuduntu. Great distro but nevertheless gone..It matters if you want a system that just works year in and year out.

So staying around is good for that :-D I use Arch 12 years old and Manjaro (still a baby but a very good "Arch made easy" distro). I am confident that Arch will stay around.

Fedora Centos OpenSUSE and Ubuntu are not going to go away either.

It is something to consider when recommending a distro.
