Steam for Linux?

Phoronix report that they have found evidence that the gaming engine Steam from Valve will be available for Linux.

Phoronix assume that Valve will publish this in June 2010.

This means that games like "Left 4 dead", "Half life", "Portal" and "Counterstrike" will be available for Linux users.

Do you read me b1o :?:

At one point, I was impressed by, to me, a unique and interesting social phenomenon centered on World of Warcraft, I think it is. The gist is one of the online gamers died in real life and the other members of that 'side' of the ongoing fanciful war, truly touched, arranged a funeral. Ironically, the other 'side' were aware of the arrangements being made and ambushed the funeral, slaughtering the vulnerable participants, dragging the symbolic ceremony into the envelope of the conflict. There is some way to make or retrieve recordings of the game and it was pretty chilling to watch what happened. Maybe you have heard of this event. The sophistication of the electronic graphical rendition of this fantasy and the sociological window into the lives of young people so invested in this type of gaming got my attention. However, otherwise, so far and, probably, until the end, I don't do games. :C
