Spain is in a financial crisis so they need systems with low cost of ownership as we have seen the region of Extremadura has migrated 40000 Official PC's to Debian viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1817&hilit=spain
And now the Schools in Andalucia follow. They picked Ubuntu and over 4000 schools will use Guadalinex EDU as the modified version is called.
It will be implemented by the Canonical partner Isotrol. Maybe a bit of a financial crisis is all it takes for Linux to become a huge desktop success

That proves a point the market will take care of itself and no Gov bailout is need it.

No liking the ideal of the Canonical jackals feeding on a moment of need.

Perhaps Spain have to make a pact with a quasi devil for now.
