This is a tempting "cloud" product. It lets you save your files in a folder out there and update it on every PC and phone that you have. Of course it is for free. Whenever it is for free however it makes sense to ask yourself what these kind people are living of. Of course they have a premium service with more space that must be paid for, so that could be it. In that case it's fair. But let us take a look at the conditions that you have to agree too.
Dropbox reserves the right, at any time, to change or impose fees for access to and use of the Site, Content, Files and/or Services

That could mean that the pictures, documents, and programs are gone and you can only get them back if you are willing to pay for them.

And please do notice this one:
Consent to Access Your Files

BY UTILIZING THE SITE, CONTENT, FILES AND/OR SERVICES, YOU CONSENT TO ALLOW DROPBOX TO ACCESS YOUR COMPUTER TO ACCESS ANY FILES THAT ARE PLACED IN THE 'MY DROPBOX,' 'DROPBOX' FOLDERS, AND/OR ANY OTHER FOLDER WHICH YOU CHOOSE TO LINK TO DROPBOX. BY PLACING FILES IN YOUR SHARED FOLDER, YOU CONSENT TO SHARE ACCESS TO THE CONTENT OF THOSE FOLDERS WITH THOSE OTHER DROPBOX USERS THAT HAVE BEEN AUTHORIZED TO UTILIZE THOSE FOLDERS. BY PLACING FILES IN YOUR PUBLIC FOLDERS, YOU CONSENT TO SHARE ACCESS TO THE CONTENT OF THOSE FOLDERS WITH OTHER DROPBOX USERS AND/OR THE PUBLIC.

So when the marketing guys at droppox tells you how fantastic the stuff is for syncing your Mobile phone and your Laptop and PC, you might well be updating the other PC's as well.
Dropbox is very open about the responsibilities - You are responsible they are not:
You acknowledge and agree that you should not rely on the Site, Content, Files and Services for any reason.

That is the truth! They said so themselves - you better listen!
You can of course put your stuff in private folders but in that case Dropbox can still access them according to the above. So that makes the following question interesting:
Who is dropbox?
I don't know do you?
In any case you better do not listen to any advice given by them, that states otherwise:
NO ADVICE OR INFORMATION, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, OBTAINED FROM DROPBOX OR THROUGH THE SITE, CONTENT, FILES OR SERVICES, WILL CREATE ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY MADE HEREIN.

So to sum it up: You can trust dropbox to:
Access your private folder if they choose to.
To not take any responsibillity regarding your data.

Having said this the service is tempting and practical (the road to Hell always is - You can read about temptation in the Bible  ).
So with the absolute faith in the human naivety I will now post the link. And most of you will probably fall for that temptation right away +1

Yeah, have had dropbox installed for quite some time. Never used it though. Couldn't figure it out.
