Looking for a program that can "un-pak" a file. Digging a lot in the web leads me to a lot of dead ends. My question is, what Linux application for Mageia 4 can do the job?

Maybe is in the wrong forum, admins, feel free to move the thread on a more suitable place if need it. :)

Moved to software.
Here is a python script that can take care of the pak files for you:

https://code.google.com/p/grit-i18n/sou ... ta_pack.py

It is a python module that can unpack and repack the (.PAK) files.

The izarc web page says it supports PAK (if you are willing to install wine).
Do you need to extract a single file or do you need it on an ongoing basis?

I have wine installed, so is not a big deal.

Installed that extactor before and said that is an "Unsupported Archive Type". Pretty much stumped at this moment. :confused

Is the file you need to extract is publicly available you could post a link to it and we could have a try at extracting and rearchiving with something a little less exotic?
