No That is only for one of the small ones (the first in post one as an experiment). I just changed the trackers so the torrent bit seems OK now - it is uploading here.
Check that one out first - if the torrent goes through then it is time to add the heavy duty one...

Dang. There were a couple of the other ones I was interested in, but I'll get this one going. Thanks!

It's downloading on torrent now.

Viking MultiSystemDVD torrent!

Postby viking60 » 26 Aug 2015, 09:34

Ok here is the link to the 1,9 GB viking.iso torrent.
:A

https://www.dropbox.com/s/1d0wn09h27yul ... rrent?dl=0
(I am a bit rusty at this torrent stuff - so if it doesn't compute lemme know!).

This link is on Megasync - you do not have to register - just click "download with browser"
Edit:
Wow that torrent download went suspiciously fast on my windows box - I am "burning" it to a USB dongle with Rufus now - if that goes well then all is good...I'll let you know....
Manjaro 64bit on the main box -Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz and nVidia Corporation GT200b [GeForce GTX 275] (rev a1. + Centos on the server - Arch on the laptop.

Thank you! :)

viking60 wrote:Unetbootin for "burning" to USB will work in both Windows and Linux. But the Linux guys can simply use the dd command:
To check out the USB as root:

Code: Select all

fdisk -l

This will come up with something like /dev/sdbX.
You need to unmount it:

Code: Select all

umount /dev/sdb1

And then burn the file to USB (this assumes that you are in the directory where viking.iso is):

Code: Select all

dd bs=4M if=viking.iso of=/dev/sdb

Do it and save the disk/USB for a rainy day when your computer crashes - then it will save your Bacon.

I highly recommend this method. You may remember my issues with Unetbootin. It's highly unreliable, and flakey as all get-out.

On another note, I registered with megasync.

It is a small goodie and fits on a CD-rom. It also has Rescatux!

Please confirm when everything has worked on your end.

Well, so far my connection has been too flakey to tell. :(

multicd.iso has downloaded and is trying anyway, to seed.
viking.iso is trying to download, but the download of Arch is drowning it out. If the speed I have currently keeps up, then it won't be long before it's done and the viking.iso won't be drowned out.
Just to let you know.

I'll give it a shot.

I didn't have to. WTF? At any rate, I've created an account. Find me viking if you want - same username as here.
