I was at the Opera yesterday

I went to the Opera yesterday and watched Puccinis Madama Butterfly. A real sad story of the disaster American Navy people sometimes left behind in Japan (That Pinkerton guy was no good). Madama Butterfly did exist and inspired this tragic and beutiful story. Puccini first watched the play in London, I belive, and beeing Italian he loved the drama so much that he begged the author to give him the rights so he could put music to it.



Olga Guryakova was madama Butterfly and I can report that she was not even fat! :shock:


The building is impressive too

And the seats are made for women and Japanese people - not for Berserks - so it was more a necessity to give a standing ovation, due to my legs and bottom, than the exitement over the music.
But by all means: the music was fantastic!
