Dick Clark, the man of American Bandstand, Rockin' New Year's Eve, and an awesome contributor to rock 'n roll died today of a massive heart attack, at the age of 82. May he R.I.P. I think we all here in the states have very fond memories of him on television, and considered him as part of our lives.

He can be found in Wikipedia and a multitude of other sources. We (meaning my friends and I) always said that the day he died, that would be when we knew that rock 'n roll was dead. There certainly will be a huge hole left in the rock world, one that can never be filled again, not even by Casey Kasem. Dick Clark was larger than life.

More on him at wikipedia here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_Clark and here: http://www.rollingstone.com/?redirurl=/ ... h-20120418
And a beautiful tribute to the world's oldest teenager can be found here: http://www.deseretnews.com/m/article/765569711

You know as well, that the Rolling Stone article is one helluva write-up. That one shows just a modicum of the impact of Clark's death.

Very sad, indeed.
